Hey guys!

I’m back with another post. Wohoo. Two posts in two days? Who am I? Anyway, I really wanted to write about this because it was such a fun experience.

Since we can’t have a party or go anywhere to celebrate halloween, my friends and I decided to have a halloween photo shoot instead. We weren’t even sure if we would really do it till the very last minute and our friend Asmaa did an amazing job on our faces! It looked so real, so professional.

We started at around 5.30pm on thursday evening and she spent almost two hours on my face. What she did was to use paper glue (such an amazing hack!) to create the scratch wound. She spread it across my face in the shape of the scratch and split through it to simulate skin being cut. She then added foundation in the tone of my skin and red lipstick to make it look like a real scratch wound. Of course I wanted to look cute so she added eyeshadow and lipstick at the end.

After my makeup was done, it was time for the photo shoot. Yay. As you can see from the photos, they really turned out so well. The scratch looks legit and with the manipulation of lighting, it turned from werewolf hunter themed photo shoot to horror theme shoot. It got to a point that we got a bit freaked out looking at the pictures. It’s scary alright. We also tried the psycho theme and used a real knife (kids don’t try this at home) and got some really good shots as well.

Once I was done with my photo shoot, it was Josh’s turn. His character was a computer virus. She painted half of his face with lines of blue eyeshadow and then painted the inner line with white oil paint to simulate glowing effect. Then it was time for his photo shoot. His photo shoot didn’t take as much time as mine did but we got some really cool shots of him.

And of course it wouldn’t be complete without a photo shoot of our SFX make up artist and the person who is responsible for this whole photo shoot. At the end, when both Josh and I were done it was her turn. Hats off to you! This sure is next level themed photo shoot. Thank you!

Our planning went as far as only getting our faces done. We didn’t really prepare for the photo shoot in terms of what to wear or what lighting to use or which location/background to shoot at. So, we used and improvised with whatever we could find around the house and these pictures are the end results.

This is Halloween 2020. Happy Halloween! Cheers!
